Nowhere
else does one see such an amazing diversity not only in
terms of religion, customs and communities, but also the
variation in landscapes and lifestyles. If India is famous
for the snow-clad Himalayas, it is also known for its
warm sunny beaches. It is here that architecural masterpieces
of the yesteryears stand tall with modern buildings. Almost
a continent in itself, today India is the world's largest
democracy. From the ancient times, people from all over
the world have been drawn to India. Coming from the oldest
civilizations, the Indus Valley; the Greeks, Persians,
Turks, Mughals and then the Europeans have each added
their influence threads that have collectively enhanced
the rich cultural fabric that is today's India. India
is a country where hospitality is a way of life. A vast
country where ancient traditions, rituals and cuisines
still reflect the social, religious and geographical diversity
born out of centuries of social upheaval.
